Founding Partner
As a founding partner of Anomaly, Jason DeLand has been instrumental in shaping the agency’s global vision, strategy, and ventures business. Since co-founding Anomaly in 2004, he has focused on identifying emerging trends in technology, media, consumer behavior, and macroeconomics - leveraging those insights to drive entrepreneurial solutions for both the agency and its clients.
From 2017 to 2019, Jason served as joint global CEO, helping to shape Anomaly’s direction at the highest level. Over two decades, he has led major business initiatives for brands such as Coca-Cola Innovations, Jawbone, Major League Baseball, Disney Parks & Resorts (MagicBand), Panera Bread, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. He and Mike Byrne were key partners behind Global Budweiser for nearly a decade, leading two successful World Cup sponsorships, and playing a pivotal role in three of the most viewed and beloved Super Bowl ads of all time. In 2022, the two also spearheaded Dunkin’s first Super Bowl campaign to critical acclaim.
Currently, Jason leads AI strategy and development at Anomaly, ensuring the agency remains at the forefront of emerging technologies.
Beyond client work, he helped launch Anomaly's data and analytics platform Apollo Program and the femtech venture Obie Health. He also co-created dosist, a pioneering company in medicinal, responsible-use cannabis, recognized by TIME as one of the "25 Best Inventions of 2016" and ranked among Fast Company’s "Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Health." In 2019, LinkedIn named dosist the "#2 Top Startup" to work for, and in 2020, Interbrand recognized it as a "Breakthrough Brand" to watch.
A recognized thought leader, Jason has appeared as a marketing and business expert on Bloomberg News, Charlie Rose, and in AdAge, Adweek, Fast Company, and Business Insider. He serves on the board of DREAM in New York City, a charter school network serving over 2,200 students from preschool to college.
A graduate of Ithaca College, Jason delivered the school’s 2024 commencement address.
Growing up in the wilderness of upstate New York, he developed a lifelong passion for hunting and fly-fishing.
